What is the Honors Institute at Erskine?
The Honors Institute at Erskine is a unique three-year program (Freshman-Junior years) designed to challenge your intellect and grow your faith. In our discussion-based curriculum, you’ll learn alongside like-minded students and prepare to offer Christian leadership in whatever field you enter after college. The program satisfies most general education requirements and is compatible with all majors. You’ll have the opportunity to explore authors and traditions from antiquity through the contemporary era—all from a biblical worldview.
Our Mission:
Our mission in the Honors Institute is the pursuit of wisdom through shared inquiry grounded in the Great Texts across all disciplines. Our program satisfies the majority of General Education requirements at Erskine, thereby allowing students to pursue their interests (for their major as well as extra-curricular interests) at the outset of their arrival on campus.
